Organization
Founded in 1997, the Associazione di Studi Sismondiani of Pescia (ASSP) is a non-profit scientific organization, that works to increase understanding and appreciation of Jean Charles Léonard Simonde de Sismondi. It is an independent policy and research center, whose primary activities of research and writing have resulted in some distinguished published reports. Three presidents have guided the Association through its history, each bringing unique shape to its work.
In the decade since the founding of the ASSP, its mission has remained constant:
- by organizing meetings, seminars and a quadrennial international conference
- by encouraging the study of Sismondi
- by publishing researches
The chief focus of the ASSP activity is the Sismondi’s Archive, housed in the Archivio di Stato di Pescia, Italy.
